2018

Scope Theatre Festival debuted in 2018 in the USQ Concert Hall, created by producer Grace Sankey as a University Project. The festival consisted of ten shows by thirty young artists and provides as a skeleton for future years of the festival.

- 178 seats in the USQ Concert Hall Theatre

- 100% of seats booked by September 13

- House at 78% capacity for performance

- Ten shows

- 30 actors, directors and writers involved total

- 2 tech and production crew members

Programs such as this provide necessary infrastructure for professional, early career and student artists to practice in a professional setting... to give artists the opportunity to produce work for and with a professional setting allows the artists involved to engage, enhance and challenge their skills

It is a fabulous vehicle for upcoming playwrights, actors and directors to share their craft

Without regular opportunities for local creatives to experiment with their work, they have no way to gain traction and relevant experience in the industry. Without accessible theatre for young people, many of our youth would miss out and not be exposed to that creative outlet.
