Scope Theatre Festival was born from opportunity and exists to provide more. Opportunity for writers to grow, to learn what's brilliant about their work, and to have it heard. Opportunity for young directors to learn about a craft that they may have little to no experience with at this early point in their careers, and opportunity for young actors to tell the stories that they are passionate about. Opportunity is important, but unfortunately it's not everywhere, sometimes you have to make it for yourself, which is what Scope Theatre Festival is all about.

Toowoomba is a community with a growing, vibrant arts scene and we want to help water the garden. Scope exists to inspire more young people to share their stories and develop their craft from the comfort of their own community, while assisting to bridge the creative gap that exists in more regional areas through the sharing of stories and forming of connections. Our mission is to grow Scope as a resource over the coming years to benefit the Toowoomba community, and provide ongoing opportunities for growth in the regional arts sector. The festival is here to encourage learning and community engagement, and most of all, to provide a voice to a very important group of people: Our Youth.
